Florence Schurch, General Secretary, Swiss Trading & Shipping Association (STSA)

Florence Schurch is the Swiss Trading & Shipping Association (STSA) General Secretary.

Ms. Schurch was born and raised in Geneva. After having obtained a Master in political science at the University of Geneva, she studied one year in Oxford and obtained in 2007 a second master in international relations and security of Georgetown University, in Washington, D.C.

Florence started her carrier by working for the Swiss federal police in Bern where she acted as special agent working against organized crime. Six months after 09/11 she was posted in the Swiss embassy in the U.S. She was the first Swiss female agent posted overseas.

In September 2007, Ms. Schurch got posted at the Swiss embassy in Berlin to collaborate with BKA (German federal police).

Since 2009 she has been nominated by the Conseil d’Etat as Federal attaché to build up the new office of lobby for the canton of Geneva, in order to promote the Geneva interests at the national level.

Florence Schurch is the mother of a 8 years old todler and speaks french, english, german, spanish and italian.
