Alberto Perez

As Head of Maritime Commercial Markets at Lloyd’s Register, Alberto manages strategic relationships with commercial stakeholders such as charterers, insurers, and financers who come to Lloyd’s Register as their trusted advisor for compliance, performance, and sustainability.
Prior to joining Lloyd’s Register, Alberto worked for four years at Inmarsat as Director of Strategy and Business Development, managing strategic planning, new business ideas, and partnerships. Before joining Inmarsat, he spent 11 years at ABB Marine, holding various integral global positions in Sales, Business Development and Product Management. He was responsible for helping ship-owners and operators gain efficiencies and reduce emissions using a combination of cutting-edge technologies and vessel-collected data. His time at ABB also included an active contribution towards shipping regulation, having been a member of the European Commission working group on shipping emissions reduction.
He holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, and a Diploma in Commodity Trading from the University of Geneva. On a personal note, he is an avid reader, and although originally from Spain, he lives with his wife and two children in the French-speaking part of Switzerland where they enjoy hiking and skiing in the Alps.
