Following the success of the inaugural Maritime Transport Efficiency Conference, the event organisers announce that the second edition will take place on October 4-5, 2021 in Geneva.

The international conference on Maritime Transport Efficiency will take place for the second consecutive year in Geneva on 4-5 October 2021, at the Hotel President Wilson.

The event will once again reassemble people involved in research, innovation and technological development, and the main actors of the maritime transport industry, in order to create a positive dynamic around sustainability issues, to encourage and promote developments aimed at improving the environmental balance sheet and reducing operating costs.

Around 140 delegates from all over Europe attended the inaugural edition of the event in early October 2020 (click here to see a short video clip). The event was organised with all the necessary sanitary measures and provided a safe and confortable working environment. Asked to evaluate the event, participants were very positive, with over 90 % of them stating that the quality of the organisation, the importance of the subjects covered and the quality of the speakers was excellent or very good (see the 2020 Post-Event report).

“This positive feed-back reinforced our desire to organise a second edition of the conference,” said Bernard Schopfer, the organiser of the event. “We will actively look for new and different technology solutions aimed at improving the maritime transport environmental balance sheet, strive to present the most innovative solutions to the shipping companies, ship owners and industry professionals and help promote networking and business opportunities between all participants.”

This year’s conference was focusing on topics covering alternative propulsion systems (wind-assisted projects, hybrid & electric propulsion), future marine fuels (hydrogen, ammonia, methanol), energy efficiency, routing and sustainable future solutions, environmental compliance and legislation issues.

The second edition of the Maritime Transport Efficiency Conference will be bigger and more international. It will improve thanks to learnings from the first edition.

We are now working on the 2021 agenda and encourage those who have interesting case study or innovative solutions, as well as corporations and start-ups willing to present or exhibit their technological solutions to contact us.
